Practical course starting prices including VAT

Choose your course by the vehicle you intend to drive and the entitlement already on your licence. The Class 1 upgrade and direct car-to-C+E routes are different options.

Prices shown are the specified starting packages, not universal all-inclusive licence totals. Compare your selected hours, practical tests, vehicle use, medical, theory and CPC requirements. Do not add the same test fee twice if it is included in your chosen package.

Driver CPC options for London drivers

Practical HGV training takes place at Dunsfold Airport, Surrey. Online periodic Driver CPC does not require travel to the training base. Confirm the venue for any in-person course or test before booking.

ADR training is a separate course

• ADR Core + Packages: £479 inc. VAT per person — Classroom, maximum 8 learners. For dangerous goods carried in packages; confirm the class modules relevant to your work.
• ADR Core + Packages + Tanks: £599 inc. VAT per person — Classroom, maximum 8 learners. For drivers who also need the tanks module; confirm the required class modules.

The actual classroom venue, dates, required class modules, exam and material inclusions and booking terms are confirmed before payment. Specialist Classes 1 and 7 are on request, not assumed to be included in a fixed-price package. Do not assume ADR training takes place at Dunsfold.

Plan your HGV licence and test route

Medical and provisional entitlement

A first-time vocational route normally starts with a full car licence, the relevant medical and DVLA provisional entitlement. A doctor completes the D4 report; an optician may need to complete its eyesight section. Existing qualifications can change the stages you need.

Theory and practical preparation

Check the applicable multiple-choice, hazard-perception and practical requirements for your category. Review the official GOV.UK HGV and bus driver guide and confirm your route with the team. Training hours come from the package you select, not a fixed number of days for every learner.

Practical tests and appointment planning

The HGV practical test separates Part 3a off-road exercises from Part 3b on-road driving. Check the relevant exercises, including trailer coupling where applicable, in the official guide. Confirm the location and arrangements for each test in your booking. A training-base address does not mean every appointment starts there.

Preparation should build safe observations, road position, speed management and vehicle control on different roads, rather than depend on a promised examiner route. DVLA processing, test availability and the training you need affect the overall timetable; no fixed wait or pass result is promised.

Initial CPC package inclusions

For Category C and C1, the With CPC price includes the selected driving course and listed practical test, a D4 medical appointment, multiple-choice theory and hazard-perception test fees, online revision, and Initial Driver CPC Module 2 case-studies and Module 4 practical-demonstration test fees. You still need to apply for the appropriate DVLA provisional entitlement and pass the required tests; the package does not itself grant a licence or Driver CPC qualification.

GS Driver Training is based at Unit 508, Dunsfold Airport, Stovolds Hill, Cranleigh, Surrey GU6 8TB. This is a Surrey training base, not a separate London branch.
